OAK GROVE CEMETERY STORY

The Manito Historical Society was formed in 1978 as the result of an effort to save the "Old Manito Jail" when it was rumored to be scheduled for demolition.  As a result of the efforts of those founding members, the jail was saved and later moved next to the original village school where both buildings serve as museums of the history of the town.
